CELLULAR FLOW Training
|
ARE YOU EXPERIENCING ANY OF THESE CHALLENGES?
|
| • |
Late deliveries as a result
of long production lead times? |
| • |
Quality issues aren't caught early in the
process? |
| • |
Inventory, raw materials, and parts move
around a lot in your production process? |
| • |
Running out of room in your current production
facility? |
| • |
Lots of product and/or raw materials tied
up in work in process? |
If the answer is "Yes,"
then MMEC's Cellular Flow training
may be what you need.
PREREQUISITE: Lean
Manufacturing workshop & simulation and Value Stream Mapping
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Cellular flow is a five-step process for
connecting the manual and machine processes of similar operations
in order to eliminate waste and non-value adding activities. The
team follows the five-step process of developing product families,
setting task times, studying work sequences, balancing work content,
and designing/ implementing the work cell. In this course, you will
learn how to link and balance manufacturing operations, then design
and implement continuous flow cells. Participants will learn how
to transform traditional batch processing to a cellular layout with
continuous parts flow.
LEARN HOW TO:
| • |
Reduce lead times, resulting
in improved on-time delivery. |
| • |
Build in quality at the source for improved
quality. |
| • |
Reduce inventory and parts movement. |
| • |
Minimize space requirements. |
| • |
Optimize floor space usage. |
| • |
Minimize work in process. |
| • |
Improve productivity. |
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: Manufacturing/Operations
Managers and Supervisors
COURSE LENGTH & FORMAT:
4 Hours; Classroom presentation with analysis
of an actual production system. Presentation can be supplemented
with an actual production floor process analysis and discussion.
If multiple manufacturing companies are involved, one company agrees
to host the event at its plant (allowing participants to discuss
Cellular Flow principles in the context of an actual manufacturing
operation).
CLASS SIZE GUIDELINES:
Public Event: 10
minimum
Private Company Event: Variable
(depending on internal demand)
