Need a more-effective procedure for establishing
the cost of a potential project for a more accurate bid? |

a profit? |

at all but unsure how to make a solid determination? |

your expenses? |

then MMEC's Job Costing &
Bidding training may be what you
need.
PREREQUISITE: Basic
math skills.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Effective bidding is a refined art that
requires a thorough understanding of actual operation costs. Participants
in this course will be introduced to a tool that will help them
identify the estimated cost associate with a job. Participants will
be shown how to develop a customized spreadsheet that accounts for
variable costs (labor, materials, equipment replacement, and shop
efficiency) for each job and will be shown how to more-accurately
assign overhead expenses (indirect labor, rent, lights, etc.) to
specific jobs. Participants will be introduced to a standardized
system for determining which are potentially profitable jobs that
fit your equipment and employee skill levels.
LEARN HOW TO:
| • |
Create a bidding process that
considers true costs, as well as production and employee capability. |
| • |
Submit contract bids that, if won, can be
fulfilled profitably. |
| • |
Gain from past bidding successes and failures. |
| • |
Accurately assess variable costs by job
as a part of bid development. |
| • |
Appropriately assign overhead expenses to
specific jobs. |
| • |
Identify which jobs, while potentially profitable,
may not be a good fit for your equipment or skill base. |
| • |
Walk away from jobs that don't meet your
requirements for profitability and fit. |
