PULL/KANBAN Training
|
ARE YOU EXPERIENCING ANY OF THESE CHALLENGES?
|
| • |
Producing inventory that you don't need or that sits
in inventory for a long time? |
| • |
Employees don't know which products are
selling and which aren't? |
| • |
Conflicts arise when materials or products
aren't available when needed? |
| • |
Production delays because materials are
out of stock or not ordered in time? |
| • |
Need a way to alert materials planning systems
personnel more quickly to avoid material shortages? |
If the answer is "Yes,"
then MMEC's Pull/Kanban training
may be what you need.
PREREQUISITE: Lean
Manufacturing workshop & simulation and Value Stream Mapping
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Pull/Kanban systems are can be used to control
shop floor inventory and production schedules. This course will
teach you how to design and implement a visually driven, employee-controlled
material replenishment system. Participants will also learn how
to implement repetitive and non-repetitive pull systems, to set
up point-of-use material storage to interface with materials planning
systems. Special emphasis will be placed on balancing lot sizes
with capacity, rather than economic order quantity.
LEARN HOW TO:
| • |
Create a flexible manufacturing
operation, capable of responding and shifting to meet customer
demand. |
| • |
Enhance employee involvement and team responsibility
for overall materials management. |
| • |
Make material planning/procurement activities
more accurately reflect actual materials usage. |
| • |
Free up cash tied up in materials inventory,
by closely matching lot sizes with production demand. |
| • |
Reduce inventory and product obsolescence. |
| • |
Increase production output while reducing
overall production costs. |
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: Manufacturing/Operations
Managers and Supervisors; Inventory/Purchasing Managers
COURSE LENGTH & FORMAT:
4 Hours; 2 hours classroom presentation,
supplemented with 2 hours of actual production floor process analysis
and discussion. If multiple manufacturing companies are involved,
